Avon Officials Reveal Updated Budget Timeline
The town's budget is a key component to not only what services are offered in the town/schools, but how much taxes will cost this summer.

AVON, CT — Avon officials this week have updated the timeline toward, eventually, deciding a town/school spending plan for next fiscal year.
Budgets are key to the community because it not only is a determining factor on what services are offered in the town and schools, it determines how much taxpayers will have to pay this summer.

The process to prepare the FY 2023-24 budget that will take effect on July 1 is well underway.

- The Avon Board of Finance Public Hearing on the budget will be held in a hybrid format (at the Avon Senior Center and via GoToMeeting) on Monday, April 3, at 7 p.m. Virtual access instructions will be made available on the town’s website prior to the hearing. Public comment may be made either in-person at the Avon Senior Center or virtually.
- The Avon Board of Finance Budget Workshop will be held in a hybrid format (at the Avon Senior Center and via GoToMeeting) on Tuesday, April 4, at 7 p.m. Virtual access instructions will be made available on the Town’s website prior to the hearing.
- The Annual Budget Town Meeting will be held in a hybrid format (at the Avon Senior Center and via GoToMeeting) on Monday, May 1, at 7 p.m. Virtual access instructions will be made available on the Town’s website prior to the hearing. Public comment may be made either in-person at the Avon Senior Center or virtually.
- The Budget Referendum is scheduled for Wednesday, May 10, from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Avon Senior Center.
