Avon Old Farms Continues to Collect Donations for Injured Marines After Push-Ups for Patriots

Teams of Avon Old Farms students and faculty shoot for more than 14,000 push-ups in the fundraiser for wounded Marines and their families.

With calluses and blisters on his hands in the last two hours of Push-Ups for Patriots on Sunday, Maj. John Bourgault, Avon Old Farms assistant dean, did 14,460 push-ups and 1,028 pull-ups.

As of 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, Bourgault and his push-up pals had raised $2,500, and he said that he expects more donations later in the week.

The money raised will benefit the Injured Marines Semper Fi Fund, that supports injured Marines and their families.
