Avon Old Farms' Vasic Signs National Letter of Intent

The Avon Old Farms and Serbian U-18 star's hoop skills will stay in the area.

AVON, CT — Luka Vasic, of Pirot, Serbia and Avon Old Farms, has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend the University of Hartford and play for the UHart men’s basketball team, Head Coach John Gallagher announced Thursday.

The 6-foot-7 small forward is a versatile wing "with an offensive mentality and vast international experience," Gallagher said.

Vasic was named the MVP of the Serbian Under-18 league while playing for BC Pirot, averaging 25.6 points, 8.4 rebounds and 3.4 assists. He is attending Avon Old Farms this year, and has maintained a 4.0 GPA all throughout high school, Gallagher said.

“Luka is a gifted scoring threat who can make deep threes and finish in traffic,” Gallagher said. “He can play multiple positions on offense, and he can advance the ball up the floor with ease. To get a player like Luka, who was involved with programs from the ACC, the Atlantic 10 and the Pac-12, is a representation of the level of player we can sign at Hartford.”
