Avon P&Z Approves Emergency Broadcast System
The system will be able to broadcast for up to 60 days by itself.

Avon officials approved a plan that will boost the reliability of an emergency broadcast system on Avon Mountain.
The system would go online if WTIC’s broadcast system went down, according to the Hartford Courant. It is a partnership between FEMA and WTIC

The new system would be able to stay on the air for 60 days by itself thanks to a larger fuel tank and other upgrades.
One resident spoke in favor of the plan while another asked the Planning and Zoning Commission to postpone a decision so residents could review the plan.
