Avon Rec Seeks Young Teens To Learn To Be Camp Counselors
The Avon Recreation & Parks Department is looking for teens entering grades 9 and 10 to be volunteer counselors-in-training this summer.
AVON, CT — Younger high school students looking to earn a bit of supervisory experience and find something fun to do this summer might want to give the Avon Recreation & Parks Department a call.
That's because Avon has a "Counselor-in-Training" program for teens entering grades 9 and 10 this summer with the town's summer camp program.
While the positions are unpaid, they do offer younger teens the chance to cultivate leadership and supervisory experience and get an inside track at part-time jobs with the department when they're eligible to work.
