Avon Receives Votes in State Field Hockey Coaches Poll
The Falcons are enjoying a 20-7 scoring margin over opponents this season.

With no clear-cut favorite emerging among the top teams in Connecticut, Greenwich came out on top of the most recent weekly field hockey coaches poll.
Eight coaches voted in the poll, with no school receiving more than two first-place votes.
Avon (4-0-0-1) did not crack the top 10, but received some support from voters. The Falcons have outscored opponents by a 20-7 margin thus far this season.

Here are the top 10 plus all other vote-getters, with records through Wednesday, Sept. 27:

- Daniel Hand (5-0-1)
- Glastonbury (6-0)
- Darien (7-0-1)
- Norwalk (6-0)
- Enfield (5-0)
- New Fairfield (5-1)
7. Granby Memorial (5-0)
9. Pomperaug (5-0-2)
10. Cheshire (5-0-0-1)
Others receiving votes: North Branford (8-0-1), Avon (4-0-0-1), Immaculate (5-0-1), Staples (5-1), South Windsor (6-0-1), Branford (3-1-0-1).
