Avon Resident Named Top Family Attorney

AVON, CT — An Avon resident and local attorney was recently named one of his field's top family attorneys.

Hartford-based Louden, Katz & McGrath announced that partner Robert B. Katz of Avon was named the Best Lawyers 2023 Family Law “Lawyer of the Year” for the Hartford metro area.

First published in 1983, Best Lawyers is a guidebook of top attorneys in various fields.

Best Lawyers lists are compiled based on a peer-review evaluation.

More than 116,000 industry leading lawyers are eligible to vote and have submitted more than 17 million evaluations on the legal abilities of other lawyers based on their specific practice areas around the world.

"Lawyer of the Year" honors are awarded annually to only one lawyer per practice area in each region.

Katz has been practicing family law exclusively throughout Connecticut since 1983.

He is a founding member and past president of the Connecticut Collaborative Divorce Group and has been recognized by Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America in the area of family law.

In addition, he has been a guest speaker and participant in Columbia University's mock trial program since 2018.
