Avon Road To Close For 3 Days For Bridge Construction

AVON, CT — Motorists in Avon should prepare for a three-day road closure next week as construction continues on a local bridge.

A small section of Tillotson Road at Old Farms Road will be closed to through traffic from Monday, Sept. 21, through Wednesday, Sept. 23, according to the Town of Avon.

The closure will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day.

Town officials said the closure is necessary for construction work on the bridge and advised motorists to seek alternate routes while work is underway.

The road is expected to reopen outside the posted construction hours.

Motorists are encouraged to use caution around the work zone and allow additional travel time.
