Avon Roadway Open Again After Tree Fell Onto Power Lines Tuesday: UPDATE

AVON, CT — Waterville Road (Route 10) at Avonwood Road reopened at 5 a.m. Wednesday, after a large tree fell into the roadway and became entangled with active power lines the day prior, local officials announced.

Town officials said, however, motorists should still be careful when approaching the area.

"Please note that the traffic light at this intersection is currently operating in a flashing signal mode and is being addressed. Please approach the intersection with caution," wrote the town on Wednesday morning.
