Avon Runners Succeed at Winding Trails Invitational
The girls' team was second in the varsity large school division, while a member of the boys' team placed second individually.

FARMINGTON, CT — Cross country runners from Avon High School enjoyed a successful afternoon Saturday at the fifth annual Winding Trails Invitational meet in Farmington.
In the girls' varsity large school division, the Falcons placed five runners in the top 15, finishing second with 43 points to Newtown's 38. Top performers were Emily Foley (6th), Christina Martin (9th), Sara Leavens (10th), Rachel Martin (13th) and Caroline Luby (15th).
Avon's boys placed sixth in the large school division, led by Zach Bortoff (2nd) and Jonathan Hernandez (20th).
