Avon School Officials Name New Middle School Principal

The appointment followed "a comprehensive search" conducted by a 13-member member search committee.

AVON, CT — The Avon Board of Education and school system administrators on Tuesday announced the appointment of David Kimball as the new principal at Avon Middle School.

The appointment followed "a comprehensive search" conducted by a 13-member member search committee, education officials said.

Kimball was an assistant principal for the past five years, the most recent at Lyman Hall High
School in Wallingford, education officials said.

He participated in the NEASC Steering Committee, served as "point person" for Title XI, was a liaison for Open Choice, a liaison to CTE and coordinator for the Connecticut Technical Education Assessments, education officials said.

Prior to his administrative position, Kimball was an English teacher, education officials said.

Kimball earned a sixth Year Diploma in Educational Leadership from Southern Connecticut State
University in 2009, a M.S. in English and Secondary Education from Southern in 2007 and a B.A. in
English from Albertus Magnus College in 2003.
