Avon School Unveils New Cafeteria
It unveiled its newly renovated cafeteria, The Quill Grill, on Nov. 4 following a student kindness fundraiser.
AVON, CT — Hundreds of Pine Grove Elementary School students celebrated the unveiling of their newly renovated cafeteria Wednesday, Nov. 4, following a fundraising initiative that encouraged students to perform acts of kindness.
The cafeteria, renamed "The Quill Grill," was unveiled during a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the school, located at 151 Scoville Road in Avon.
The renovation was made possible through the efforts of the Pine Grove Parent Teacher Organization, which organized a "Built on Kindness" fundraiser to support the project.

Rather than focusing solely on traditional fundraising activities, the initiative encouraged students to participate in acts of kindness over time.
Those efforts helped support the cafeteria's transformation into a refreshed gathering space where students could eat, socialize, and connect with classmates.

The school had planned for approximately 575 students to get their first look at the renovated cafeteria during the celebration.
The project combined improvements to the school's cafeteria with an emphasis on generosity, kindness, and school spirit.
The newly named Quill Grill was intended to provide students with a more welcoming environment while serving as a reminder of the contributions that helped make the renovation possible.
The project also highlighted the role of the school's parent-teacher organization in supporting improvements to the educational environment and bringing the school community together.
