Avon Scouts Collecting Bottles/Cans This Weekend

Proceeds from the event, scheduled at a local church, will benefit Avon Boy Scout Troop 274.

AVON, CT — Avon Boy Scout Troop 274 has a way to properly dispose of all those bottles and cans that have accumulated over the winter

On Saturday, March 21, the troop is hosting another bottle-and-can drive at the West Avon Congregational Church, 280 Country Club Road, Avon.

From 8 a.m. to noon that day, local scouts will collect all redeemable bottles and cans from the public.

And you don't even have to leave your vehicle.

"Friendly and courteous scouts will unload all your redeemable bottles and cans from your vehicle and be sure they are recycled," wrote the troop in an announcement.

All proceeds from the bottle and can drive will help local scouts attend a popular scout camp over the summer.
