Avon residents may apply in partnership with registered nonprofits that have agreed to serve as fiscal agents for proposed projects.

The Town of Avon may also serve as a fiscal agent for applicants.

Grant applications should request a minimum of $250 and not exceed $10,000.

Individuals, for-profit businesses, and civic organizations lacking a 501(c)(3) IRS designation are ineligible.

While all applications benefiting Avon residents are welcome, a September 2023 town-wide survey helped identify areas of greatest need and will inform this round of funding priorities.

The Hartford Foundation for Public Giving established Greater Together Community Funds in all 29 towns served by the foundation, including Avon in 2019 with an initial investment of $100,000.

To date, the fund has received another $80,000, totaling an investment of $180,000.

AGTCF’s purpose is to encourage broad, inclusive civic engagement, support residents in taking ownership around the needs of Avon and anchor the Hartford Foundation in town.
