AVON, CT — State Rep. Eleni Kavros DeGraw announced she will seek reelection for the 17th District, which includes Canton and most of Avon. The Avon Democrat is running for her second term in the Connecticut General Assembly.

She currently serves on both the Public Health and Energy and Technology Committees. Kavros DeGraw is also the current Vice Chair of the Finance, Revenue, and Bonding Committee.

“Serving the people of Avon and Canton has been an honor this past year,” Kavros DeGraw said in a statement. “Passing a bipartisan budget that didn’t raise taxes while investing in our communities, delivering much needed funds for our schools and supporting our local businesses was achieved by working together and reaching across the aisle. But the reality is there is still much work to be done. Making Connecticut more affordable, getting through this pandemic, and building our economy back stronger than before are the critical priorities that must be addressed now. I’m running for re-election because I know and share the values of this district and will continue to advocate for them as your state representative.”

Kavros DeGraw reached the qualifying threshold for dollars and number of in-district donors to participate in the Citizens Election Program (CEP) in just over 24 hours.

“Raising the money for my campaign ahead of session allows me to put my focus where it matters most, on our district and the needs of my constituents,” Kavros DeGraw said in a statement. “I was overwhelmed at the level of support people showed my campaign in such a short period of time and I am truly grateful for their continued faith in me.”
