Avon State Sen. Witkos Endorsed by Connecticut League of Conservation Voters
State Sen. Kevin Witkos (R-8) was endorsed by the league earlier this week.

The following was submitted by the Witkos campaign:
On October 14, the bipartisan Connecticut League of Conservation Voters (CTLCV) endorsed Kevin Witkos’ campaign for re-election to the Connecticut General Assembly in the November 4 elections.
“If you care about the air you breathe, the water you drink, and the wonderful parks and landscapes in Connecticut, then pay close attention to what candidates are saying about environmental issues,” said CTLCV Executive Director Lori Brown. “The candidates we endorse are reliable in their environmental values, and pledge to prioritize environmental matters important to their constituents. We urge people in their districts to support them at the polls on November 4.”

CTLCV endorses candidates for the state legislature every election cycle based on their positions and track record on the environment. Endorsed candidates must be committed to protecting Connecticut’s land, water, air, and wildlife, and to working for sustainable solutions to pressing state issues like transportation, energy, and waste management.
“I want future generations to look back at what we do today and think positively of the choices we made and their impact on our environment. What makes Connecticut such a desirable place to live, has much to do with the quality of its natural resources. I have made preserving the environment a staple of my platform and will continue the fight to preserve our lands so that our state’s beautiful parks, forests, and waterways can be enjoyed for generations to come,” said Witkos of the endorsement by CTLCV.

By endorsing candidates who care about environmental values, the League is helping to elect people who will make meaningful decisions that affect the state’s environment every day. “Connecticut’s economic and environmental quality of life have always depended on our natural resources. We are counting on our endorsed candidates to champion smart environmental policies that will protect these irreplaceable assets,” said Brown.
