AVON, CT – Rep. Hill recently met with Ann Hayes, a 2020 graduate of Avon High School, and Margaret Babbitt, a 2020 graduate of Canton High School. In just a few weeks Hayes will be reporting to the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, and Margaret will be reporting to the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland. "I commend both women for their exemplary achievements in being accepted to these great schools and their commitment to serving our country after they have finished their academic requirements," said Rep. Hill. "I am proud to see Margaret and Ann representing our community, I have great confidence that they will be successful in their future endeavors."

Despite the two women going to different academies, they both share an interest in careers within the field of engineering. Hayes would like to go on and study civil engineering and Babbitt is interested in pursuing studies related to mechanical engineering. Immediately following graduation, both will serve for at least five additional years of duty within their respective branches.
