Thanksgiving Closings In Avon, What You Need To Know

Thanksgiving will impact Avon's town offices, schools and senior center.

AVON, CT — Municipal offices and schools will be impacted by the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday weekend and local officials are asking residents to be apprised of what's open and what's not.

• For Wednesday, Nov. 23, the Avon Free Public Library will close at 5 p.m. and Avon Town Hall will be open regular hours (until 4:30 p.m.)

• For Thursday, Nov. 24, and Friday, Nov. 25, Avon Town Hall, the town's public works department, the library, the senior center and the landfill will be closed.

• For Saturday, Nov. 26, the landfill will be open regular hours, 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The library will be open regular hours as well that day, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Meanwhile, Avon schools will enjoy a three-day break for the holiday weekend, with schools closed on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
