Avon Taproom Hosting Scholarship Fundraiser Thursday

AVON, CT — A local brewhouse is hosting a special fundraiser this week to help raise money so soon-to-be high school graduates from Avon can attend college.

The "Tri-It Taproom," located at 300 W. Main St., Avon (Route 44), is hosting a fundraiser for Avon Dollars for Scholars,a scholarship program providing aid to qualifying Avon high school grads going to college.

It will take place at 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 2.

Participants are asked to bring snacks and enjoy a "fun-filled evening with music," according to an event announcement.

Raffle tickets will be sold for a 50-50 drawing to win a gift basket, with proceeds benefiting Avon Dollars for Scholars.

In addition, donations will be collected at the event and via text message.
