Avon Teacher's Adult Side Business Also Part of Lewd Posting Investigation: Report

AVON, CT — In addition to images posted on social media that could be interpreted as lewd, a teacher's side business that features exotic adult aids and toys is also being investigated as part of her suspension, according to a report posted by the Hartford Courant.

Superintendent of Schools Gary Mala was not available for comment on Wednesday and Thursday during the school day.

Patch had filed a Freedom of Information request for the disciplinary documents related to the teacher, but Mala did say later on Thursday there is no documentation to release.

According to parental complaints, the postings were lewd in nature, the Courant reported. Complaints are also centered in an adult accessory business the teacher is associated with, according to the Courant.

Mala on Tuesday told a group of Thompson Brook School parents a school employee has been placed on administrative leave with pay while the staffer's recent activities are reviewed, according to the Courant story.

The teacher's name has not been officially released.
