Avon Theater Group To Host 'Blind Dates' Storytelling Night This Week
The free storytelling will feature true dating tales, comedy, and donations for a prominent local non-profit.
AVON, CT — Residents in or near Avon are invited to an evening of live storytelling and comedy as Playhouse 44 presents its fourth community event, “Like a Box of Chocolates: Blind Dates of Destiny,” on Wednesday, April 8.
The program will take place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Avon Congregational Church, 6 W. Main St., in the Fellowship Hall. Admission is free.
According to organizers, the event will feature true personal stories performed by a new group of narrators.

Scheduled pieces include titles such as “The Day I Met My Match,” “Blindfully Dating,” “What Are the Chances?” and “Burner Phone Romance.”
The evening will also include a comedy skit inspired by early computer dating.

Attendees are encouraged to bring housewares and nonperishable food items for donation to Gifts of Love out of Avon.
Light refreshments, including snacks and cupcakes, will be provided.
Playhouse 44, a nonprofit performing arts organization, hosts storytelling events aimed at bringing community members together through shared experiences.
Organizers say the April 8 program is designed to offer both entertainment and an opportunity for neighbors to reconnect and meet new people.
