Avon Town, School Holiday Closings Announced
Normal town/school operations will resume on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024.
AVON, CT — The upcoming Christmas and New Year's Day holiday season will affect operations at Avon town and school facilities.
The Town of Avon recently announced those impacts. They are:
• The Avon landfill will be open on Saturday, Dec. 23, from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the Avon Free Public Library will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• The Avon Free Public Library will be closed on Sunday, Dec. 24.
• The Avon town offices, library, senior center and public works department will be closed on Monday, Dec. 25.

• On Saturday, Dec. 30, the landfill will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the library will be open from 10 a.m. to 5np.m.
• The ibrary will be closed on Sunday, Dec. 31.
• The Avon town offices, library, senior center and public works department will be closed on Monday, Jan. 1, 2024.
Avon schools, meanwhile, will be closed for winter break from Monday, Dec. 25, to Monday, Jan. 1, 2024. There is an early dismissal on Friday, Dec. 22.
Regular school hours and town operations resume on Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024.
