Avon Transfer Station Permits Now Online
For the first time ever, folks can purchase permits to use transfer station online. Permits are for July 1 to June 30, 2023.
AVON, CT — Locals looking to use the services of Avon's transfer station can do so by getting the necessary permits online, the town announced Wednesday.
Town officials announced that permits valid starting July 1 through the end of the fiscal year June 30, 2023, are now on sale.
The price fee is as follows: residential permits are $125; senior citizens are $65; and recycling permits only are $40.

Avon officials said, this year, the town is able to offer permit registration online for the first time ever.
The Avon Transfer Station is located at 281 Huckleberry Hill Road and is open Tuesdays and Fridays from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Permits may be obtained via this link: https://avonct.viewpointcloud.com.
To apply for a permit, people will need to create a user account with OpenGov Citizen Services or to sign into an existing OpenGov account.
The town says this will make the permit application process quicker and more efficient.
"We appreciate your patience as we implement a new initiative that will ultimately streamline the permitting process for all parties involved and we welcome your constructive feedback as we work to improve the permit application process in future years," reads the town's announcement on its website.
