Avon Zoning Commission Turns Parcels Into Open Space

Avon has rezoned three land parcels as open space.

A little over 30 acres at properties at 491 Northington, Wyngate and Saddle Ridge drives were turned into open space by the town planning and zoning commission, according to the Hartford Courant.

The acquisition and rezoning of the properties is a longterm plan to create more walking trails in town.

Some small acquisitions such as the less than an acre on Saddle Ridge provide easier access to other open space land.
