Avon's Sustainable Future Topic Of Special Event

The Avon Library Saturday, April 13, is hosting a pre-Earth Day celebration called 'Clean Air & Energy: A Plan To Celebrate Earth Day.'

AVON, CT — How Avon will work toward sustainability and clean energy lifestyles is the topic of a special forum on Saturday, April 13, which comes before Earth Day, which is April 22.

Called"Clean Air & Energy: A Plan to Celebrate Earth Day," the program is at 11 a.m., in the Avon Library Community Room, 281 Country Club Road, Avon.

Guests will be able to join The Avon Clean Energy Commission’s Carrie Firestone, PACE’s Mark Scully, and special guest Dr. Joseph Baxer from The United Nations Association of Connecticut.

They will conduct an official launch of the newly updated Avon Clean Energy Plan.

The panel will share details of the plan and discuss the role the Avon community will play in implementation, with time for questions and actionable takeaways.

There will be a celebratory announcement of the Avon Library’s EV charging station and Avon school roof solar installations as well

This is a family-friendly event.

It is co-sponsored by the United Nations CT Chapter, Avon Clean Energy Commission and PACE (People’s Action for Clean Energy).
