Hofstra University, Hempstead NY

• Zachary Zweibel of Avon graduated from Hofstra University in May 2018, earning a Bachelor of Science in Video/Television And Film.

Union College, Schenectady NY

• Nathaniel Stekler, of Avon, was named to the 2018 Dean's List at Union College. Stekler is a member of the Class of 2020, majoring in Psychology and Philosophy. Comprised annually, the Union College Dean's List honors students who have a grade point average of 3.5 for the entire academic year and meet certain other requirements.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA

• Sarah Sanchez of Avon, a member of the class of 2019 majoring in civil engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), was a member of a student team that recently completed an intense, hands-on research through the WPI project center in Worcester, England. The project was titled Go Green Week: Developing Community Through Sustainability Initiatives. In their project summary, the students wrote, "We expanded upon a previous WPI team's Go Green Week model to promote sustainability within the community, focusing on areas such as energy conservation, recycling, reducing plastic and food waste, and promoting the health of the local river."
