AVON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Bates College, Lewiston ME

• Rachael Rosow was named to the dean's list at Bates College for the winter semester ending in April 2018. This is a distinction earned by students whose cumulative grade point average is 3.71 or higher.
  Rosow, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eric Rosow of Avon, is a 2014 graduate of Avon High School. She is majoring in psychology and biology at Bates.

University of Scranton, Scranton PA

• Lisa Crivelli of Avon was among more than 60 University of Scranton students inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu, the national Jesuit honor society. Alpha Sigma Nu is the only honor society open to students and faculty in all disciplines of the University. Junior and senior students who have distinguished themselves in scholarship, loyalty and service are eligible for nomination by chapter members. Appointments are made by the president of the University on the recommendation of the moderator and chapter members of the society, and no more than four percent of the junior and senior class may be admitted each year. The Scranton chapter of Alpha Sigma Nu was established in 1943 and is the oldest honor society at the University. Crivelli is a senior majoring in occupational therapy at the Jesuit university.
