- Ashley Timme of Avon graduated from Troy University during Term 4 of the 2017/2018 academic year. Timme received the Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Education.

- The Alpha Iota Alpha Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Tunxis Community College in Farmington announced the names of over 100 students who accepted membership in the honor society. They were formally recognized this spring at an induction ceremony. Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) is recognized by the American Association of Community Colleges as the official honor fraternity of two-year colleges. To achieve eligibility for PTK, a student must complete at least 12 hours of associate degree course work and earn a grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher. Throughout their enrollment, they must maintain high academic standing, generally a 3.0 GPA. About 130,000 students are inducted into Phi Theta Kappa each year. Honorees from Avon were Ryan Appold and Nida Shaikh.
University of Rhode Island, Kingston RI
- The University of Rhode Island is pleased to announce the spring 2018 Dean's List. To be included on the Dean's List, full-time students must have completed 12 or more credits for letter grades during a semester and achieved at least a 3.30 quality point average. Part-time students qualify with the accumulation of 12 or more credits for letter grades earning at least a 3.30 quality point average. Students honored from Avon are Rachel B. Asnes, Katherine Captain, Marissa T. Gaudiana, Isabella Marie Pellino, Taylor Polley and Nicholas Joseph Zacchio.
