AVON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Clemson University, Clemson SC

• Sean Neagle, a graduate of the Avon High School Class of 2014, received his BS in Economics from Clemson University on May 10, and also made the Dean’s List during his final semester. The previous day, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Army National Guard.

Southern Vermont College, Bennington VT

• Brenna Welsh of Avon received the Academic Achievement Award in Psychology at Southern Vermont College's Honors Convocation this spring.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Worcester MA

• Four Avon residents were among 1,474 students from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) named to the university's Dean's List for academic excellence for the spring 2018 semester. They are Mitchell Pastizzo, a member of the class of 2019 majoring in mechanical engineering; Alec Kohlhoff, a member of the class of 2019 majoring in electrical and computer engineering and computer science; Avik Vimal, a member of the class of 2018 majoring in electrical and computer engineering; and Sarah Sanchez, a member of the class of 2019 majoring in civil engineering.
