Goodwin College, East Hartford CT
- Avon resident Tori Hicks achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average at Goodwin College for the summer 2017 session, earning a spot on the elite President's List. The List is the highest academic honor roll at Goodwin College, a nonprofit school that believes that all students are capable of great success academically, professionally, and in their personal lives. To qualify for the President's List, a student must be enrolled in at least six credits at Goodwin College and earn perfect marks in all classes. She also earned a spot on the Goodwin College Dean's List, one of 731 students to make the Dean's List, reserved for those who demonstrate great academic performance. Dean's List inclusion requires a student to earn a minimum 3.5 GPA, the equivalent of an A- average, during a given academic session. The student must also be enrolled in a minimum of six academic credits to qualify.

- Allison Kirstukas of Avon has received the Charlotte Gustafson Akins Kinesiology Scholarship from the Iowa State University College of Human Sciences for the 2017-18 school year. She also received the Eileen Helvig Textiles and Clothing Scholarship from the Iowa State University Department of Apparel, Events, and Hospitality Management for the 2017-18 academic year. Kirstukas is studying apparel, merchandising, and design in at Iowa State.
St. Lawrence University, Canton NY
- Sydney E. Chatfield of Avon has been selected for membership into the St. Lawrence University chapter of Beta Beta Beta, the national biological honorary society. Chatfield is a member of the Class of 2019 and is majoring in biochemistry. Chatfield attended Avon High School. To be eligible for membership, students must have an overall grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.25, have completed four biology courses and have earned a 3.5 GPA in those courses. The biology major is one of the most popular programs at St. Lawrence.
- Stephen P. Dorney of Avon has been selected for membership in the St. Lawrence University chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon, the national mathematics honorary society. Dorney is a member of the Class of 2019 and is majoring in economics-mathematics. Dorney attended Avon High School. Membership eligibility for Pi Mu Epsilon varies by class year, but all students must have taken a qualifying number of mathematics courses and have achieved minimum grade-point averages in those courses, as well as overall, depending upon one's seniority.
