AVON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Gettysburg College, Gettysburg PA

• Kristina Cheyne of Avon has been placed on the Deans' Commendation List for outstanding academic achievement in the spring 2018 semester. Students with a quality point average in the range of 3.300 to 3.599 for a semester's work are placed on the College's Deans' Commendation List.

James Madison University, Harrisonburg VA

• Cory Richard DiBacco of Avon graduated with a degree in Education from The Graduate School at James Madison University during the May 4, 2018 graduate school commencement exercises. DiBacco was among more than 600 students who received master's, educational specialist and doctoral degrees.
• James Madison University is pleased to announce the names of two students from Avon who graduated during the May 4, 2018 commencement exercises. Kate Alexandra Nicholson graduated with a degree in Communication Studies, and Maeve Malone Reiss graduated with a degree in Media Arts and Design. More than 4,400 students received undergraduate, master's, educational specialist and doctoral degrees.
