Bucknell University, Lewisburg PA

  • Bucknell University has released the dean's list for outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2017-18 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean's list recognition. Honorees from Avon are Julianna Kim, Gabby Lugli, Caroline Malkin and Tess Smith.

  • The Little East Conference (LEC) All-Academic Team for the fall 2017 semester has been announced, and Eastern Connecticut State University is well represented. With 35 student-athletes named to the team this semester, including a record 13 members of the women's soccer team (the most by any institution in any sport), Eastern ranks second among conference institutions in honorees. Among the student-athletes named to the team is Tara Shayler of Avon. Shayler, who played soccer, currently majors in Elementary Education and History. To qualify for a spot on the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore and have earned at a cumulative grade-point average of 3.30 or higher.
