Campus Notes - Avon College Students

AVON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Clemson University, Clemson SC

• Robert Hutchinson Haines of Avon graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Haines was among more than 1,400 students who received degrees at winter graduation ceremonies at Littlejohn Coliseum.

Coastal Carolina University, Conway SC

• Dominic Lofredo, of Avon, majoring in accounting, was among 2,419 students at Coastal Carolina University who made the fall semester 2017 Dean's List. To qualify for the Dean's List, freshmen must earn a 3.25 grade point average, and upperclassmen must earn a 3.5 grade point average. All students must be enrolled full time.

Roger Williams University, Bristol RI

• Four students from Avon have been named to the fall 2017 Dean's List at Roger Williams University in Bristol, R.I. Full-time students who complete 12 or more credits per semester and earn a GPA of 3.4 or higher are placed on the Dean's List that semester. Local honorees are Chloe Knopf, Paige Lombardi, Madison Mains and Olivia Smith.

University of Vermont, Burlington VT

• Lauren Barnes and Hannah Lasser of Avon have been named to the dean's list for the fall 2017 semester. To be named to the dean's list, students must have a grade-point average of 3.0 or better and rank in the top 20 percent of their class in their respective college or school.
