AVON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Ithaca College, Ithaca NY

• Avon native Andrew Diamond, an Ithaca College student majoring in Integrated Marketing Communications, was named to the Dean's List in the college's Roy H. Park School of Communications for the fall 2017 semester.

Southern Vermont College, Bennington VT

• Brenna Welsh of Avon achieved Dean's List for the fall 2017 semester. Each semester, full-time students who have achieved a minimum GPA of 3.65 are placed on the Dean's List. Those students included on the Dean's List have completed at least 12 credits of graded course work with no incompletes or grades below C at the close of the semester.

Springfield College, Springfield MA

• Springfield College has named Grace Whalen of Avon to the dean's list for academic excellence for the fall 2017 term. Whalen is studying Health Science. Criteria for selection to the dean's list requires that the student must have a minimum semester grade point average of 3.500 for the semester.

University of Hartford, West Hartford CT

• The University of Hartford is pleased to announce the following students from Avon have been named to the Dean's List for fall 2017: Kayleigh Bagley, Deanna Casey, Marcus Cosenza, Denis Dalamagas, Logan Edwards, Ariel Gelber, Jan Ghalib, Rachel Hamilton, Nicole Martin, Yash Mirchandani, Matthew Monti, Anastasia Pashchenko, Ilycia Rieman, Mark Rourke, Zachary Siegel, Chloe Silverman, Harrison Stanczyc and Brian Tenison.
