College Achievements For Avon Students

AVON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Tunxis Community College, Farmington CT

• Over 80 Tunxis students received awards and scholarships at the 35th Annual “Student Achievement Recognition Ceremony,” held this spring at Tunxis Community College. Close to 80 scholarships and $86,765 in scholarship funds was awarded. Recipients from Avon were Yukiko Sobue (Early Childhood Education Academic Discipline Award), and Susan Krauss (Visual Fine Arts Academic Discipline Award).

University of Dayton, Dayton OH

• Michael Oliver of Avon earned a spot on the University of Dayton's spring 2018 dean's list, which honors undergraduate students achieving a minimum 3.5 GPA for the semester.

University of Delaware, Newark DE

• Erin Rinehart and Olivia Welter, both of Avon, have been named to the University of Delaware Dean's List for the spring 2018 semester. To meet eligibility requirements for the Dean's List, a student must be enrolled full-time and earn a GPA of 3.33 or above (on a 4.0 scale) for the semester.

University of Hartford, West Hartford CT

• The University of Hartford is pleased to announce the following students from Avon have been named to the Dean's List for spring 2018: Rachel Hamilton, Marcus Cosenza, Ariel Gelber, Benjamin Haberern, Samuel Haberern, Riley Lynch, Denis Dalamagas, Thomas Maino, Ilycia Rieman, Chloe Silverman, Matthew Shield, Logan Edwards, Blake Edwards, Nishita Mirchandani, Yash Mirchandani and Deanna Casey.
