AVON, CT — Here are some recent notable accomplishments by local college students, as provided by readMedia Newswire.

Loyola University Maryland, Baltimore MD

• Kelly DelGallo, of Avon, received a BA degree in Communication at Loyola University Maryland's 166th Commencement Exercises on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at Royal Farms Arena in downtown Baltimore.

Marist College, Poughkeepsie NY

• Five students from Avon have been named to the Marist College Dean's List for the spring 2018 semester. Catherine Ponziani is a member of the Class of 2018 and is majoring in Social Work. Tyler Galske is a member of the Class of 2019 and is majoring in Computer Science. Lauren Carlone is a member of the Class of 2020 and is majoring in Business Administration. Danielle Anderson is a member of the Class of 2021 and is majoring in Games and Emerging Media. Hope Martino is a member of the Class of 2021 and is majoring in Liberal Arts.

Miami University, Oxford OH

• Graham Shannon was named to the dean's list at Miami University for the 2018 spring semester.
  Miami University students who are ranked in the top twenty percent of undergraduate students within their division for second semester 2017-2018 have been named to the dean's list recognizing academic performance. Shannon, from Avon, is majoring in University Studies.

University of Scranton, Scranton PA

• A pair of Avon residents were among more than 1,650 students named to The University of Scranton's Dean's List for the 2018 spring semester. The Dean's List recognizes students for academic excellence. A student must have a grade point average of 3.5 or better with a minimum number of credit hours during the semester to make the Dean's List. Lisa M. Crivelli is a senior occupational therapy major in the University's Panuska College of Professional Studies, and Brandon Jeffrey Feinberg is a senior accounting major in the University's Kania School of Management.
