The Day After: Everything In Avon Is Closed

Avon officials announced that all town buildings and schools are closed due to Sunday's major snowstorm.

AVON, CT — The best way to describe Town of Avon operations after Sunday's snowstorm the next day is quite simple.

Everything is closed.

Due to the winter storm, public schools, town offices, the Avon Free Public Library, and the Avon Senior Center will be closed on Monday, Jan. 26.

In addition, the Avon Board of Finance meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 26, will be rescheduled to a future date.

If someone requires assistance while the town offices are closed, contact the Avon Police Department at 860-409-4200. For an emergency, dial 911.
