First Saturday Open Studios

Meet more than a dozen artists who work on-site at the Farmington Valley Arts Center, including Jim Koplar (Studio 5A) and Bill Manocchio (Studio 6A), who have recently joined this thriving creative community.

It's also the final opportunity to see "Connections," a juried show of contemporary drawings, paintings, photography, prints, mixed media and sculpture by artists from Connecticut and beyond. Juror Patricia Hickson, the Emily Hall Tremaine Curator of Contemporary Art at Hartford's Wadsworth Atheneum, selected the show's pieces for their imaginative and thoughtful interpretations of the "Connections" theme. The exhibit, in the Arts Center's Fisher Gallery, provides art enthusiasts and collectors with the opportunity to view--and to purchase--diverse creations deemed notable by Hickson.

The People's Choice Award Winner will be announced at 3 p.m. Be sure to cast a vote!
