That's because the meeting recordings and presentations from department heads are available on the town's website: www.avonct.gov/home/pages/annual-town-budget.

While budget numbers might not be as exciting as, say, the recent Super Bowl, they are important because those figures go a long way toward determining what you'll pay the town in taxes this year.

Those with questions have some options to keep on top of budget proceedings, which end with a vote in May.

Those include:

• They can contact the Avon Town Manager's Office at 860-409-4300 or budgetcomments@avonct.gov at any time.

• Attend the Avon Town Council's March 7 mhttps://www.avon.k12.ct.us/dis...eeting in person or via GoToMeeting and speak during the "FY 24/25 Budget Development" item on the agenda.

Next steps

After considering all the information presented during the budget work session and any comments received from the public, the Avon Town Council is expected to recommend its budget to the Avon Board of Finance in March.

From there, the board of finance will host a public hearing during the first week of April.

The Board will use the comments from the public that are received during the public hearing to recommend a budget to the annual Avon budget meeting and referendum in May.

This operation runs concurrently with the Avon Board of Education's budget process, which will also be decided in May along with town spending.
