Free Tax Help Available For Avon Seniors

AVON, CT — Local seniors worried about filling out their 2024 income tax forms have some free help locally.

The AARP Foundation Tax-Aide offers free tax assistance to middle and low-income taxpayers from Feb. 1 through April 10. Special attention is given to those 50 and older.

Appointments are required. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call the Avon Senior Center at 860-675-4355.

AARP volunteers are trained to assist taxpayers in filing Form 1040 and other common schedules and forms.

More complex or unusual tax returns may be out of scope and volunteers are prohibited from assisting taxpayers with them.

There are several forms and items seniors must bring to their appointments.
