Gifts of Love's Annual Fire & Ice Gala: Celebrating 25 Years of Gifts of Love

Celebrate 25 years of Gifts of Love at the Annual Fire & Ice Gala.

Festivities will include hors-d’oeuvres, open bar, sit-down dinner, music, dancing, a look back at 25 years of Gifts of Love, and live and silent auctions. Proceeds will support Gifts of Love’s commitment to helping our neighbors in need. Gifts of Love and Community Farm of Simsbury have merged! Gifts of Love and Community Farm of Simsbury have been working collaboratively for the past several years. This partnership included hiring an organic farmer to teach at the Farm summer school, assist with education programming, and grow fresh fruits and vegetables for Gifts of Love’s Food Pantry. In addition, Gifts of Love volunteers and volunteens assist in the growing and harvesting of fresh produce in the Farm’s one-acre teaching garden.

With the merge finalized, Community Farm of Simsbury has become a program of Gifts of Love led by Executive Director Diana Goode and the Board of Directors of both organizations, which have merged. Ultimately, the merge results in more resources for the Farm, including staff and volunteers, more organically grown fruits and vegetables for Gifts of Love’s food pantry, and the opportunity to expand farm-based educational programming for youth and adults.

Over the past 25 years, Gifts of Love has directly touched the lives of thousands of people in the Greater Hartford community, including residents of more than 30 Connecticut towns.
