"Your experience begins at 12:30 p.m. in our historic 1819 meeting house where Ms. Carle, dressed in authentic period attire, will present an entertaining, informative and humorous program on the fashion, lifestyle, manners and etiquette of men, women and children of the Edwardian era," reads an announcement on the program.
That era in history corresponds to the reign of King Edward VII in Great Britain, which was from 1901-10. It came after the long reign of Queen Victoria, who reigned from 1837 to 1901.
Event organizers said Carle's performance is full of audience interaction and humor.
Carle has been performing historical programs for over 30 years as an actress, dancer, singer and director.
Immediately following this historic program is an afternoon tea party featuring traditional tea sandwiches, scones with cream and jam, delectable desserts plus a tea-tasting buffet.
Guests are invited to bring their cell phone or camera for photo opportunities under the church's flower-covered arbor.
Tickets to experience “The Victorian Lady” and “Dress-Up Tea Party” are $30.
The event is open to those 12 years old and above and party dresses, hats and gloves are encouraged.
Tickets are available through Sunday, May 7, by calling Janet Carville at 860-677-0115.
