Go Bike Riding With Avon Officials Wednesday

AVON, CT — Local bike enthusiasts can interact with Avon Town Council members Wednesday and do so on their favorite place — a local trail — rather than a meeting room.

The council Wednesday, April 14, is hosting the "Avon Town Council Ride The Town" event from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The ride starts on the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail at the Sperry Park Trail Head, which is located 60 Simsbury Road.

Considered an "easy paced ride," guests will ride along the trail with local leaders to the Farmington Town Line along the trail, which is actually part of the East Coast Greenway.

In addition to the Avon Town Council, the event will include members of local biking group Bike Walk Avon CT.

"It's a great opportunity to meet and speak with our dedicated town council members in a relaxed and fun activity," reads a promotional flyer for the event.

Should it rain, though the forecast calls for nice, late-summer weather, the event will be Thursday, Sept. 15.
