AVON/SIMSBURY, CT — Vie for the Kids, Inc., a Simsbury-based charitable organization, is again teeing up to honor and remember Robby Brisco and support all of the kids, right in our backyards, who are battling cancer.

The organization announces the seventh annual Robby Brisco Open on Monday, Aug. 7, at the Golf Club of Avon, 160 Country Club Road, to help continue raising funds for pediatric cancer clinical trials at Connecticut Children's, a children's hospital in Hartford.

"Robby was just 16 when he was diagnosed with bone cancer. Sadly, Robby’s fight ended just three years later, but his spirit to fight and stay positive lives on in all of us," wrote event organizers.

The tournament is a way to remember and honor Robby and other fallen cancer warriors, a way to inspire local kids and families who are in the midst of fighting their own cancer battles and a way to provide funding to fight this disease.
