Grappler From Avon High School Captures CIAC Divisional Championship

NORTH HAVEN, CT — A grappler from Avon High School turned in a championship performance at the CIAC Class M divisional wrestling meet Saturday at North Haven High School.

Elijah Fagin scored a 12-9 decision over Elijah McDermott of Guilford to capture the 138-lb. title. Five other Falcons were placewinners, enabling Avon to place fourth in team competition with 154.5 points.

The State Open is scheduled for Feb. 28 and March 1 at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven.
