Hallmark Christmas Movie To Be Set In Avon

AVON, CT — A new Hallmark Christmas movie will be set in Avon, according to The Hartford Courant. The film, "You, Me & the Christmas Trees," was mostly shot in British Columbia but takes place in Avon.

The screenwriter behind the movie is Julie Sherman Wolfe, of Avon. She also set the Hallmark movie "Taking a Shot at Love" in Avon, according to The Hartford Courant.

"You, Me & the Christmas Trees" stars Danica McKellar of "The Wonder Years."

A description of the movie on the Hallmark Channel's website reads: "Olivia is Connecticut’s resident expert on evergreens who, just days before the holiday, agrees to help Jack, a fourth generation Christmas tree farmer in Avon. A mysterious illness has befallen their firs, causing them to die out and threatening his family’s 100-year business. As Olivia tries to get to the root of the problem and extends her stay in town, she and Jack spend more time together and feelings begin to develop. Starring Danica McKellar, Benjamin Ayres and Jason Hervey."

The movie will air on the Hallmark Channel on Nov. 7 at 2 p.m., Nov. 9 at 10 a.m., Nov. 18 at 8 p.m., Nov. 25 at midnight, and Nov. 29 at 4 p.m.

The film also will be screened at Avon Winterfest on Dec. 3 from 8 to 10 p.m. in the Whole Foods parking lot at 50 Climax Road. You can find more information on Avon Winterfest here.

Connecticut has proven to be a popular spot for Christmas movies, especially those appearing on the Hallmark Channel.

"Sugar Plum Twist" was recently shot in Norwich and New London and will appear on the channel this holiday season.

"One Royal Holiday" was filmed in Putnam, Woodstock, and Hartford. The musical, holiday-themed movie premiered on the Hallmark Channel last year. "Holiday For Heroes," filmed in several Southeastern Connecticut towns, was released in 2019. In 2018, "Christmas On Honeysuckle Lane" appeared on Hallmark and was shot in Wethersfield.
