High-Tech Offerings On Display At Avon Library Event
The Avon Free Public Library will host a Makerspace Open House this weekend with demos, tours, and free take-home items.

AVON, CT — The Avon Free Public Library will open its Makerspace to the public for a hands-on open house on Saturday, April 18, inviting residents to explore creative tools and technology available at the facility.
The event will run from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the library’s computer lab at 281 Country Club Road.
Library staff will lead tours of the Makerspace and provide live demonstrations of equipment, including a 3D printer, Cricut Maker, and laser cutter.

Organizers said the open house is designed for participants of all experience levels, from beginners to those already familiar with maker technology.
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn how to start personal projects and see the capabilities of the library’s resources firsthand.

Giveaways will be available during the event, with visitors able to take home a 3D-printed or Cricut-made item while supplies last. Distribution will be first-come, first-served.
Library officials said the event aims to encourage community members to engage with creative technologies and make use of the Makerspace’s offerings.
