How Historic a Town is Avon?

A look at Avon locations listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

There are over 90,000 sites in the United States listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Connecticut lays claim to 1,597 of them, with two located within the town of Avon.

The Avon Congregational Church at the junction of Routes 202 and 44 was the first to achieve the national designation on Nov. 7, 1972. The most recent was the Pine Grove Historic District on Route 167, designated on Feb. 11, 1980.
