The Avon Social Services Department Monday afternoon said it is hosting a gift card donation drive to help families suffering after the fire.

"All gift cards will be given directly to those affected by the fire," wrote the Town of Avon Social Services Department.

"We suggest donating gift cards that can be used to purchase essentials such as food, clothing, medicines, personal care items, and household goods from local stores."

Gift cards, the town suggests, could be via VISA, grocery stores, Walmart, CVS/Walgrees, Marshals'/Home Goods, and Kohl's.

Those looking to donate gift cards can do so in person at the Town of Avon's Social Services Department, 60 W. Main St., Building No. 5, Avon, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. They can also be mailed to the department at that address as well.
