Learn To Recycle Correctly At Avon Library Event

The Avon Free Public Library on Tuesday, April 16, is hosting a free program that aims to teach folks how to recycle items properly.

AVON, CT — Most of us admit to recycling and want to do it more to help the planet. Who doesn't?

But are we recycling right?

That's a question the Avon Free Public Library hopes to answer at a special, in-person program on Tuesday, Aug. 16, at 2 p.m. at the library, 281 Country Club Road.

Guests of the special, in-person event will be able to find out which items should be placed into the recycling bin and which items belong elsewhere.

The guest speaker is Emma MacDonald from the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection.

She will provide an overview of acceptable materials in Connecticut’s mixed recycling program and will answer questions about recycling and trash.
